Motor Vehicle Accident
PORTER TOWNSHIP— On December 5, 2024, a crash occurred at the intersection of Nittany Valley Drive and Heltman Road involving Anthony Leek, a 22-year-old from New Cumberland. Leek was driving north on Nittany Valley Drive in a 2017 Nissan and allegedly lost control of the vehicle due to excessive speed for the weather conditions. He veered off the road via the east shoulder and traveled approximately 100 yards through a field before crossing Heltman Road. The initial impact occurred when Leek crossed Heltman Road, hitting an embankment and then a tree. His vehicle came to a stop on the south shoulder of Heltman Road, facing east.
Motor Vehicle Accident – Fatality
CRAWFORD TOWNSHIP— On December 5, 2024, at 5:29 a.m., a crash occurred on SR-880 near 2847 Rauchtown Road. Jonathan Corielus, 39, from Jersey Shore, was driving south on SR-880 when he veered off the road onto the east berm. The front of his 2004 Toyota Highlander initially hit an embankment on the east side of the roadway. The vehicle then became airborne for a short distance, landed on its passenger side, and collided with a large tree, impacting the windshield and roof area. The vehicle came to a final rest approximately 50 feet from the east berm. Tragically, Corielus sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash and died at the scene, according to the police report.

LAMAR TOWNSHIP— On December 5, 2024, a crash took place on Nittany Valley Drive at the intersection with Kyle Lane. Ruth Long, 77, from Centre Hall, was driving a 2002 Ford F-150 XLT southbound when environmental factors and high winds, combined with a possible load shift, caused a small utility trailer to detach from her vehicle. The trailer sustained disabling damage, resulting in equipment being spilled into a roadside field. No injuries were reported, and a private tow was arranged to remove the trailer and equipment.

LOGAN TOWNSHIP—On December 4, 2024, Nan Zhang, a 28-year-old male from Staten Island, NY, was driving north on Old Hill Road when he failed to stop at an intersection due to snowy road conditions. As a result, Zhang drove through the intersection and struck a fire hydrant, a metal fence, and a tombstone, causing damage to each. His vehicle came to a final rest in a graveyard with minor front and rear damage, but it was still drivable. No injuries were reported.
Motor Vehicle Accident/Commercial Vehicle
GREENE TOWNSHIP— On December 4, 2024, a crash occurred on I-80 West at mile marker 189.8, involving four tractor-trailers and one passenger vehicle. A 2020 Volvo driven by Samuel Selby, 33, from Naples, FL, and a 2024 Peterbilt driven by Garrett Woods, 74, from Joplin, MO, managed to stop in the roadway upon encountering a large crash scene ahead. Jonathan Thomas, 52, from Brooks, ME, was driving a 2015 Dodge RAM 1500 and was coming to a stop between Selby and Woods when a 2023 Kenworth truck, driven by Claude Lambey, 56, from Austin, TX, hit him from behind. Subsequently, a 2025 Freightliner driven by Aboul Faradj Kangbeni, 61, from Fredericksburg, VA, collided with the Peterbilt truck due to a lack of a passable route. No injuries were reported, and Bressler’s Garage provided towing services.
Harassment w/Physical Contact
PINE CREEK TOWNSHIP— On December 1, 2024, PSP Lamar responded to an active domestic dispute on Mallard Lane. During their interviews, it was reported that both parties involved—a 31-year-old female and a 40-year-old male, both from Mill Hall—had struck each other in the face with a closed fist. Citations for harassment were subsequently filed with District Court 25-3-01.

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP— On December 1, 2024, at approximately 5:47 p.m., a two-vehicle collision occurred on Eagle Valley Road, just south of Laurel Run Road. Abraham Cardoza-Lopez, 20, from Waynesburg, PA, was driving north and failed to notice a 2014 Subaru Forester driven by Emily Wendle, 19, from Altoona, who was stopped in the right lane, waiting for a vehicle ahead of her to turn left onto Laurel Run Road. Cardoza-Lopez was unable to stop in time and collided with the rear of Wendle’s vehicle. Both vehicles were able to be pulled off Eagle Valley Road and parked on Laurel Run Road. The Toyota Corolla driven by Cardoza-Lopez sustained significant front-end damage and required towing by Martin Motors. Wendle was assessed by emergency medical personnel, but she declined transport.
DUI
LOCK HAVEN— On November 30, 2024, at 6:35 p.m., PSP Lamar initiated a traffic stop to a 2022 Hyundai Accent on North Vesper Street, which resulted in an unidentified 18-year-old male of Renovo being taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
Harassment w/Physical Contact
PORTER TOWNSHIP— On November 30, 2024, at approximately 10:30 a.m., a physical altercation took place in the area of 15 Locust Street between William Condo, 60, and Chelsey Condo, 34, both of Lamar. Non-traffic citations were filed on both parties through District Court 25-3-02 for Harassment.
Disorderly Conduct
GREENE TOWNSHIP— On November 28, 2024, at approximately 8:29 a.m., a known actor caused a disturbance by disrobing and running around in public in the area of I-80 in Greene Township, according to the report issued by PSP Lamar. Charges have been prepared and filed with District Court 25-3-02. Trooper Colton E. Killion is investigating the matter.
Corruption of Minors
FLEMINGTON BOROUGH— On November 27, 2024, at 7:30 a.m., PSP Lamar responded to Walnut Alley for a report of an unknown actor sending and receiving nude images of an 11-year-old female victim. State police are still investigating this incident.
Hit and Run
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP— A crash occurred on Eagle Valley Road at its intersection with N. Water Street on November 27, 2024, as Dylan Beach, 24, of Mill Hall, was traveling south on Eagle Valley Road (SR-150). As Beach was approaching the traffic light at the intersection of Eagle Valley Road and North Water Street, the light turned red, causing him to hit his brakes as the vehicle in front of him reportedly braked.
Retail Theft/Shoplifting
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP— On November 26, 2024, at 6:46 p.m., PSP Lamar Troopers responded to a report of retail theft at Walmart in Mill Hall. Upon arrival, the Troopers determined that Alyse Dremel, 40, of Renovo, had committed retail theft when she bypassed the point of sale without paying for merchandise valued at $282.43.
Hit and Run
GREENE TOWNSHIP— On November 26, 2024, at approximately 3:05 p.m., a hit-and-run crash took place at the I-80 East rest area at mile marker 193.8 when an unnamed driver of a 2019 Honda HRV parked her vehicle, went inside the rest stop to use the restroom, came back outside several minutes later and discovered damage to the driver’s side of her vehicle. This investigation continues and is pending the review of security camera footage at the rest stop.

CASTANEA TOWNSHIP— On November 25, 2024, PSP Lamar responded to McElhattan Avenue for a report of an inactive domestic disturbance. Through investigation, it was determined that Christopher Smith, 34, of Lock Haven, kicked a 33-year-old female victim in the abdomen two times. Charges were filed through District Court 25-3-02.
DUI Crash
NOYES TOWNSHIP— On November 24, 2024, at approximately 8:15 p.m., a one-vehicle accident was reported involving a pickup truck that veered off the road, hit a utility pole, descended down a short, steep embankment, and ultimately came to a final rest in a creek bed off the left side of the road. The driver, Nicole Woomer, 31, from Renovo, was transported by Renovo Borough EMS to UPMC Williamsport Hospital for treatment of suspected moderate injuries. Troopers allege that at the scene, indications of alcohol impairment were observed, and driving under the influence is the primary suspected cause of the crash, according to the report from PSP Lamar. The investigation is ongoing.
PFA Violation
CASTANEA TOWNSHIP— On November 23, 2024, PSP Lamar Troopers were dispatched to 317 McElhattan Avenue for a possible PFA violation. Upon their arrival, Troopers determined that the PFA Order had not been violated.
DUI
PINE CREEK TOWNSHIP— On November 23, 2024, at 1:02 a.m., PSP Lamar Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of 1183 US-220 South for multiple traffic violations. The driver, identified as a 45-year-old female from State College, was taken into custody for the suspicion of DUI alcohol. Charges are pending the results of a toxicology report.
Terroristic Threats
RENOVO BOROUGH— On November 9, 2024, at 9:45 p.m., an incident occurred at 112 3rd Street in Renovo involving Frank Lowery, 53, of Renovo. Lowery allegedly pointed a .380 handgun at John Green, 18, of North Bend, and made threats. Appropriate charges were filed through District Court 25-3-03.
