Spooky Spirits and Rockin’ Costumes: Robb Elementary’s Annual Halloween Parade

By Emily Wright

LOCK HAVEN— A wave of whimsical wonder engulfed East Church Street on Thursday afternoon as Robb Elementary School’s annual Halloween parade took to the streets. With eager anticipation, students from kindergarten through fourth grade showcased their spooky creativity in a procession that donned the streets with imaginative costumes and festive flair.

At 1:30 p.m., the students filed out of the school’s front entrance, ready to dazzle their audience of family, friends, and community members who lined the streets to see the spectacle. The parade made its way along East Church Street, continued onto Hanna Street before heading down Bald Eagle Street and finally circling back to the school’s playground.

The Central Mountain High School (CMHS) marching band, led by CMHS band director Ashley Crust, guided the parade and infused the unseasonably warm afternoon air with music to enhance the day’s spooky theme.

This year’s Halloween parade followed the theme “Robb Rocks,” with teachers and faculty fully embracing the spirit. Dressed in “Robb Rocks” tee shirts and wielding inflatable electric guitars, the educators were true “Robb Stars” as they walked the streets with their classes.

Before setting off on their parade adventure, students enjoyed an outdoor fall festival that brought extra excitement to the seasonal activities. Throughout the morning, they participated in various stations arranged on the school grounds, adding to the day’s festive spirit.

Hundreds of parents, family, and friends eagerly lined the parade route to witness the annual event and catch a glimpse of their students in costume.

As the parade of ghouls, goblins, princesses, dinosaurs, and more made its way back to the playground, the CMHS marching band awaited to serenade the students with a striking rendition of Michael Jackson’s iconic “Thriller.”

Robb Elementary’s Halloween parade remains a beloved tradition, marking its steadfast place in the community as a celebration of creativity and spirited fun.
