Keohane Advances to States as Central Mountain Girls XC Places 5th at District Championships
MIFFLIN COUNTY-The Central Mountain Girls Cross Country Team competed in the PIAA AAA District 6 Championships held at Indian Valley Elementary Center, finishing 5th overall as a team. Junior Grace Keohane led the Wildcats, continuing her strong season with a 7th-place finish, which secured her spot at the PIAA AAA State Championships on November 2 at Parkview XC Course in Hershey.
“Grace ran a perfect race today,” said Coach Bair. “Her first mile was a fast 5:56, and she kept pushing the pace. By mile 2, she still looked strong and didn’t let up. She put in a great summer of preparation for these championship meets, and I’m very proud of her. I can’t wait to see her compete at states.”
Keohane aims to improve on her finish from last year’s State Championships next week.
Sophomore Gabriella Hosley was the second Wildcat to cross the finish line, placing 22nd with a time of 21:35.70.
