Ditty & Mason’s doubles win sends Bucktail tennis to playoffs

FARWELL- Bucktail Senior Matti Mason has enjoyed her first and only season being a part of the Lady Bucks’ tennis team. On Thursday night during her senior night, Mason and freshman doubles teammate Carrie Ditty would collect a huge win over Towanda’s Jaden Conklin and Maddy Blanchard. The 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 win would avenge an early season loss to the Lady Black Knights by a 3-2 count.

The win would put Bucktail’s season record at 7-5 and qualify them for the PIAA District IV playoffs that begin next week.

Mason and Ditty’s victory was matched by singles wins from Eva Sockman and tennis newcomer Lola English.

Bucktail met the challenges of a rebuilding season and more than likely get a 10 seed in the 2A playoffs and meet Milton or a possible rematch against Towanda.
