LHU Women’s Soccer falls late at Shippensburg

SHIPPENSBURG – The Lock Haven women’s soccer team traveled to Shippensburg for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division contest and the Raider scored a late goal to steal a 1-0 victory on Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 2).

After a scoreless 69 minutes to open the game, Shippensburg found the back of the net for what proved to be the game-winner.

After only taking two shots in the first half, the Bald Eagles improved their total to nine in the second half, but the Raiders clinched the shutout.

In net, Lock Haven goalkeeper Megan Miller made a game-high seven saves.

Sydney Stahl led The Haven’s attacking effort with three shots, all of which were on goal.

The Bald Eagles move to 1-4-3 overall and 1-4-1 in the PSAC East. Shippensburg improves to 2-5-1 overall and 2-3-1 in conference.

The women’s soccer program will host Senior Day on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Hubert Jack Stadium when it hosts Shepherd for a 4 p.m. PSAC East match.
