Central Mountain Girls Tennis Falls to Danville
MILL HALL-Central Mountain girls tennis team faced a tough opponent in Danville on Tuesday at the Gibson Tennis Courts, resulting in a 4-1 loss. Despite the challenging match, there were notable performances from Coach Tom Zettle’s squad.
In the singles competition, Addison Lindsay delivered a dominant performance for the Wildcats, securing the team’s only victory with a decisive 6-1, 6-0 win over Danville’s Josie Bendle.
However, Central Mountain faced difficulties in the remaining singles matches. Ellie Harry fell to Danville’s Gyovanna Sundaresan, 6-0, 6-1, while Archie Walker put up a strong fight in a closely contested match but ultimately lost to Alexa Preisz, 6-4, 6-4.
In doubles action, the Wildcat pair of Molly Dubbs and Emily Brinker were defeated by Elyse Spahr and Hazel Gatski of Danville, 6-3, 6-1. The second doubles team of Audra Eaton and Kassie Williams engaged in a tight first set, pushing their opponents Sanah Bhanushali and Ellen Pena to a tiebreaker but eventually fell 7-6(7-5), 6-2.
Up next the Lady Wildcats will host Williamsport on Thursday match time 4p.m.
