Police Blotter August 13, 2024 – PA State Police-Lamar

Motor Vehicle Accident

NOYES TOWNSHIP– On August 12, 2024, at 7:01 a.m., a one-vehicle crash occurred west on SR-120 (Renovo Road) just before Dry Run Road. The crash occurred when Bodie Lacoe, 21, M, from Clarks Summit, was traveling at approximately 45 mph while negotiating a left curve in the roadway. Lacoe fell asleep, left the roadway, and struck an embankment where his 2022 Dodge Ram became disabled. Lacoe was not injured as a result of the accident.

Runaway

LAMAR– PSP Lamar responded to Eisenhower Cross Road for a report of a runaway juvenile on August 11, 2024. According to the report, the juvenile was located a short time later.

DUI

LOCK HAVEN– PSP Lamar initiated a traffic stop on Paul Mack Boulevard for traffic violations on August 10, 2024. Upon investigation, it was determined that Richard Thompson, 25, of Mill Hall, was under the influence of alcoholic beverages. Criminal charges are pending toxicology.

Motor Vehicle Accident

GREENE TOWNSHIP– A crash occurred on I-80 East near mile marker 185.7 on August 10, 2024, when Darwin Gonzales-Escobar, 28, from Detroit, MI, was traveling in the left lane and veered off the highway, striking a guide rail. The vehicle continued to travel across the highway and came to a final rest in the right lane. The vehicle sustained disabling damage, but no injuries were reported as a result of the crash.

Retail Theft/Shoplifting

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP– At 8:16 p.m. on August 9, 2024, Nicole Salizzoni attempted to under-ring multiple items totaling $49.17 at Walmart in Mill Hall while using the self-checkout. Salizzoni was subsequently caught and charged with retail theft.

GREENE TOWNSHIP– On August 9, 2024, a one-vehicle crash occurred when Charles Dougherty, 37, from Hawthorne, NJ, was traveling at approximately 75 mph on I-80 West near mile marker 194.4. There was significant precipitation, causing Dougherty to lose control of his vehicle due to hydro-planing while negotiating a left curve in the roadway. The vehicle subsequently rolled through the right-side berm of the roadway. Dougherty was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured as a result of the crash.

GREENE TOWNSHIP– On August 9, 2024, a one-vehicle crash occurred when Michael Bingaman, 33, from Mill Hall, was traveling between 55-60 mph on I-80 East near mile marker 190.8. Significant rainfall caused Bingaman to lose control of his vehicle due to hydro-planing while he was traveling downhill and negotiating a left curve in the road, causing the vehicle to roll through the left side berm. Bingaman was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and no injuries were reported.

Harassment w/Physical Contact

PORTER TOWNSHIP– On August 8, 2024, at 7:00 p.m., PSP responded to a domestic dispute on Stryker Lane. An unnamed 39-year-old male from Mill Hall was charged with physical harassment through District Court 25-3-02 as a result of the incident.

Motor Vehicle Accident

GREENE TOWNSHIP– A crash occurred on I-80 West near mile marker 183.4 on August 7, 2024, when Raymond Nungesser, 70, from State College, was traveling in the right lane and fell asleep, causing him to cross into the left passing lane and exit the roadway. Nungesser struck a guide rail end and pushed approximately 16 yards of guide rail off the south side of the roadway. Nungesser’s 2022 BMW X5 sustained disabling damage, and no injuries were reported as a result of the crash.

Motor Vehicle Accident

PORTER TOWNSHIP– On August 6, 2024, at 11:19 a.m., a crash occurred as Margaret Ake, 79, from Mill Hall, was traveling south on Nittany Valley Drive and veered off the left side of the road and struck a utility pole while negotiating a straight section of the roadway. Following the initial impact, Ake continued in a southern direction until her vehicle flipped onto the driver’s side and then struck a road sign before coming to a final rest off the side of the roadway. Ake was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and no injuries were reported.

PFA Violation

LOCK HAVEN– On June 17, 2024, PSP Lamar investigated a PFA Violation report in the 4300 block of SR-120 (Renovo Road) after a victim received a phone call from Shane Casper, 32, from Lock Haven, the defendant in the PFA Order. PSP Lamar obtained an arrest warrant for Casper as a result of the incident.

DUI Crash

LAMAR TOWNSHIP– On June 17, 2024, at approximately 3:47 a.m., PSP Lamar responded to a motor vehicle crash on I-80 West at mile marker 176.2. Upon investigation, it was determined that Ibn Holloway, 32, M, from Altoona, was under the influence of a controlled substance. Criminal charges are pending toxicology results.

Accidental Fire

GRUGAN TOWNSHIP—The PA State Police Fire Marshal Unit and Citizen’s Hose Company Fire Chiefs investigated the cause and origin of a fire at 1521 Hyner River Road on June 16, 2024. Upon investigation, it was determined that the fire originated in the corner of the structure, and the cause of ignition was electrical. No injuries were reported during the fire or its suppression, and the structure was deemed a complete loss.

Motor Vehicle Accident

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP– On June 13, 2024, a crash occurred while Seth Bird, 43, from Lock Haven, was stationary at a red light on Eagle Valley Road. Jamison Sinkus, 24, from Snow Shoe, did not observe the vehicle stopped in front of him and subsequently struck the rear of Bird’s vehicle. No injuries were reported as a result of the crash, and both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage.

Motor Vehicle Accident

LAMAR– A crash occurred as Rudolph Kukurin Jr., 73, from Murrysville, PA, was traveling in the left lane of I-80 East on June 13, 2024. Kukurin struck a deer when it entered the left travel lane from the wooded area beside the roadway. Traffic was not detoured as a result of the accident, and no injuries were reported.

Receiving Stolen Property

CHAPMAN TOWNSHIP– On June 13, 2024, a skid steer was reportedly stolen from Lagnaippe Development Company, based in Buford, GA. The skid steer has since been located at Summerson Mountain Road near 303 Cherry Lane, according to the report issued by PSP Lamar.

Motor Vehicle Accident

NOYES TOWNSHIP– On June 2, 2024, a one-vehicle crash occurred on Tamarack Road just east of SnowMobile Trail. The crash occurred as Brock Kutskel, 18, from Ebensburg, was traveling west at approximately 45 mph while it was raining. Kutskel was negotiating a right curve in the roadway when he lost control, causing him to fishtail multiple times before losing complete control and rolling over onto the roof of the vehicle. Kutskel was not injured, and Martin Motors towed the vehicle from the scene.

Harassment w/Physical Contact

RENOVO– On June 2, 2024, at 9:00 p.m., a disturbance was reported at 1322 Erie Avenue in Renovo. Through further investigation, it was learned that a 17-year-old female from Renovo had assaulted multiple victims. The unnamed minor female has since been arrested for harassment.

Theft by Deception- ATM/Credit Card

LOGANTON– On December 31, 2023, PSP investigated a case of access device fraud in which a 44-year-old female victim’s credit card was charged without permission. This investigation is ongoing.
