Motor Vehicle Accident

GREENE TOWNSHIP– A crash occurred on I-80 West near mile marker 183.4 on August 7, 2024, as Raymond Nungesser, 70, from State College, was traveling in the right lane. Nungesser fell asleep and crossed into the left passing lane before
drifting off the roadway, where he struck a guide rail end, pushing 16 yards of guide rail off the south side of the roadway. Nungesser sustained minor injuries, and the 2022 BMW X5 he was driving sustained disabling damage in the crash.

Simple Trespass

COLEBROOK TOWNSHIP—PSP Lamar was notified of an alleged trespassing incident on Furnace Road on August 6, 2024, at 4:10 p.m. The report did not include further details, and this investigation is ongoing.

Motor Vehicle Accident

GRUGAN TOWNSHIP– A crash occurred in front of the residence located at 4956 Renovo Road on August 6, 2024, when Brittany Poleto, 33, from Renovo, was traveling east on SR-120 (Renovo Road) and lost control of her vehicle, causing her to leave the south side of the roadway. Poleto struck a roadside guide rail, shearing off a wheel and tire. Poleto’s vehicle spun uncontrollably into the roadway and flipped onto its roof before coming to a final rest. No injuries were reported in this crash and towing was provided by Martin Motors.

Endangering the Welfare of Child

PORTER TOWNSHIP– PSP Lamar responded to Jacksonville Road for a report of two young children, ages 3 and 2, found in the middle of the roadway on August 5, 2024, at 9:44 a.m. The children were unharmed in this incident, and the investigation is ongoing.

Harassment w/Physical Contact

GREENE TOWNSHIP– PSP Lamar received a Child Welfare report on August 4, 2024. According to the report that was made, the father of a 9-year-old child had smacked them with a plastic utensil. This investigation is ongoing.

Retail Theft/Shoplifting

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP– On August 4, 2024, PSP Troopers were dispatched to Sheetz in Mill Hall for a report of retail theft. Through investigation, a description of the actor, Ronald Winkleman, 62, from Mill Hall, was obtained. Winkleman was observed a short distance from Sheetz and taken into custody for stealing alcoholic beverages totaling $8.97. Charges for retail theft were filed through District Court 25-3-02.

Motor Vehicle Accident

GREENE TOWNSHIP– On August 3, 2024, at 4:34 p.m., Larry Miller, 78, from Macon, MS, was traveling on I-80 West near mile marker 189 when he left the south side of the roadway for an unknown reason. Miller over-corrected his steering and traveled across both lanes while spinning before he left the north side of the road. Upon leaving the roadway, Miller’s vehicle flipped onto its passenger side and remained at a final rest. No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.

Theft from Building

LAMAR TOWNSHIP– On August 3, 2024, it was discovered that the theft of a 40408-A Tire Machine valued at $800.00 had taken place in the area of 548 S. Heckmans Gap Road in Lamar Township. No further information was included in the report issued by PSP Lamar.

DUI/Crash

LAMAR TOWNSHIP– On August 2, 2024, at 3:59 p.m., a crash occurred in the area of 709 Auction Road. An unidentified driver from Mount Union was traveling east on Auction Road when they left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a guide rail and roadside drainage culvert before coming to a final rest off of the roadway. The vehicle sustained disabling damage to the front end, and the driver sustained possible minor injuries in the crash. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Tressler’s Towing.

Retail Theft/Shoplifting

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP– On August 2, 2024, PSP Lamar was dispatched to Walmart in Mill Hall for a report of retail theft. After investigation, an unnamed 30-year-old female from Mill Hall was taken into custody for theft of miscellaneous items totaling $26.94. Charges were filed through District Court 25-3-02.

Retail Theft/Shoplifting

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP—Asset Protection reported a retail theft at Walmart in Mill Hall on August 2, 2024. An unnamed 21-year-old female from Lock Haven was charged with stealing miscellaneous items totaling $49.66. Charges are pending.

Retail Theft/Shoplifting

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP—On August 2, 2024, Asset Protection reported a retail theft at Walmart in Mill Hall. An unnamed 28-year-old female from Jersey Shore reportedly stole $61.82 worth of merchandise. Charges are pending.

Hit and Run

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP– On August 1, 2024, at 12:22 p.m., a report of a hit-and-run incident in the Mill Hall Walmart parking lot was received by PSP Lamar. Due to a lack of witnesses and surveillance not capturing the incident, Troopers were unable to determine a potential vehicle or person(s) involved. No further information was included in the report of this incident.

PFA Violation

LAMAR TOWNSHIP– On July 31, 2024, PSP Lamar Troopers were dispatched to Racetrack Road for an alleged PFA violation. Upon further investigation, it was determined that a violation had not occurred.

Motor Vehicle Accident

LEWIS TOWNSHIP– On July 30, 2024, at 10:43 a.m., a crash occurred on I-80 East at mile marker 194.7. Sharon Poole, 79, from Milford, CT, was in the left passing lane when she traveled over the center line and struck a vehicle driven by Kaiyu Dayugar, 34, M, from Pawtucket, RI. After the initial impact, Poole began to swerve in the left passing lane for approximately 150 feet. Unable to regain control of the Subaru Forester she was driving, Poole traveled off the shoulder and into an embankment for approximately 50 feet before coming to a final rest. The vehicle driven by Dayugar came to a final rest on the north shoulder. Poole was transported to UPMC Lock Haven to be evaluated for minor injuries, and Dayugar’s front-seat passenger was also transported for evaluation of possible injuries. Bressler’s towing assisted on the scene.

Hit and Run

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP—A hit-and-run crash resulting in injury occurred on the green bridge separating Flemington and Mill Hall on July 28, 2024, at 9:33 a.m. The report of this incident did not include further information; however, the investigation is ongoing.

Hit and Run

BEECH CREEK– On July 27, 2024, Laurence Narcisi III, 62, of Huntingdon Valley, crashed on Monument Orviston Road (SR-364), east of Tank Lane while negotiating a right-hand curve. As Narcisi was negotiating the right-hand turn, another driver driving west was also negotiating the curve. Both automobiles collided with driver-side mirrors, and the impact pushed Narcisi’s mirror through the open driver-side window, striking him in the head. Narcisi is thought to have suffered a serious injury to the left side of his head, which caused him to leave the road and continue roughly 40 yards across a yard/field into a wooded area. The unidentified driver involved in the crash failed to stop and fled the scene. It is believed that the other vehicle is a Ford pickup truck, possibly an F-150 or F-250. PSP Lamar is requesting public assistance in locating the truck’s driver, and anyone with information is asked to contact the State Police Lamar barracks at 570-726-6000.

Theft by Deception/Identity Theft

BEECH CREEK– On July 24, 2024, at 12:00 p.m., PSP Troopers responded to 119 Falls Road for a report of identity theft. The victim’s identity was used to apply for unemployment benefits while she was still employed and working. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact PSP Lamar by calling 570-726-6000.

Rape/Forcible/Opposite Sex

LAMAR TOWNSHIP– On July 23, 2024, PSP Lamar received a Child Welfare report regarding a sexual assault that had occurred between December 22, 2021, and December 24, 2023. This investigation is ongoing.

Robbery/Carjacking

PORTER TOWNSHIP– On July 22, 2024, PSP Lamar responded to 5609 Nittany Valley Drive for a reported robbery. According to the investigation, the victim, a driver for J.S. Helwig & Son LLC, was robbed. The victim stated that he had been parked at this location and woke up to perform a pre-trip inspection on his truck and trailer when he saw a group of unknown black males breaking into the trailer. The victim confronted the group, and one of them threatened to stab him. At this point, the victim fled the scene to call 911. The victim reported seeing a white van of unknown make and model parked behind his trailer, which appeared to be an older model with aftermarket rims. When PSP arrived, the victim returned to the truck and discovered that the suspects had cut the metal hasp on the reefer trailer and stolen two pallets of meat before fleeing in an unknown direction. A total of 63 cases of ribeye and loins were stolen, worth $18,680.07.

Indecent Assault

LAMAR TOWNSHIP– PSP Lamar Troopers investigated two child welfare reports regarding a child having pornographic material on their cell phone on May 22, 2024, and July 22, 2024. The investigation was closed due to no findings of pornographic material.

Theft from Building

DUNNSTABLE TOWNSHIP—On July 18, 2024, PSP Lamar received a report of the theft of miscellaneous tools worth $1,000.00 at 966 Garman Road. This investigation is ongoing.

Criminal Trespass

MILL HALL– PSP Lamar responded to Frederick Street on July 12, 2024, for a report of a PFA violation. Through investigation, it was determined that Gregory Price, 49, from Coburn, PA, broke into the victim’s residence, which he was not allowed to enter. Charges were filed through District Court 25-3-02.

Corruption of Minors

ALLISON TOWNSHIP– PSP Lamar received a report of child abuse that occurred on SR-120 (Renovo Road) sometime between July 1, 2024, and July 12, 2024. This investigation is ongoing.

Retail Theft/Shoplifting

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP– On March 31, 2024, at 5:37 p.m., PSP Troopers were dispatched to Walmart in Mill Hall for a report of retail theft of miscellaneous items totaling $209.69. On the scene, Megan Kinealy, 44, from Lock Haven, was identified, and charges were subsequently filed for retail theft and receiving stolen property through District Court 25-3-02.

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP– On March 18, 2024, at 8:30 p.m., PSP Troopers were dispatched for a report of a retail theft that totaled $799.73 at Walmart in Mill Hall. On the scene, Megan Kinealy, 44, from Lock Haven, was identified, and charges were filed for retail theft and receiving stolen property through District Court 25-3-02.

The Pennsylvania State Police arrested Richard Arden Fisher, 44, on Saturday, August 3, 2024, for a bench warrant issued on July 2, 2024, for possession of a controlled substance.

Renovo Police Department News:

Renovo Police have arrested 52-year-old David A. Bartles of Renovo, stemming from an incident that occurred on June 18, 2024, between 5:15 p.m. and 5:20 p.m. in the 300 block of Huron Avenue in Renovo. Bartles is alleged to have exited his house with a Taser-type weapon and immediately began chasing a victim down the street with it. A fight ensued in the middle of the street, causing traffic disruption. The victim was struck several times with the electric weapon. Bartles was arrested on August 2, 2024, arraigned on August 3, 2024, and released on $25,000.00 unsecured bail.
