Police Blotter June 6, 2024
PA State Police Public Information Release Report:
Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police Lamar Statin will be conducting a Sobriety Checkpoint during the upcoming 4th of July Holiday period in Clinton County.
No further information was included in this release report.
Commercial Vehicle Crash
GALLAGHER TOWNSHIP– A single unit commercial vehicle crash occurred on Route 664 along the Coudersport Pike on June 5, 2024. The driver, Edward Paloskey Jr., 64, from Renovo, was traveling south at approximately 25 mph. Paloskey’s vehicle, a log truck, came into contact with utility wires strung across and above the roadway, and crashed into a ditch on the right side of the road as a result. The vehicle sustained disabling damage, however the operator reported no injuries. The roadway was fully closed due to power lines posing a hazard. Assisting on the scene was R&M Heavy Repair, PennDOT, Woolrich Volunteer Fire Company, and PPL Electric.
A volunteer firefighter who was en route to the scene to provide assistance with the crash also struck a downed power line with their vehicle. The vehicle sustained minor damage and the operator suffered no injuries. This was treated as a separate crash, linked to the first incident according to the report issued by PSP.
Harassment/Physical Contact
MILL HALL– On June 3, 2024, PSP Lamar responded to 315 South Water Street for a physical altercation between Anthony Magazu, 42, from Mill Hall, and a female victim aged 28, from Mill Hall. Magazu was cited for harassment due to the incident.
DUI
AVIS– On June 2, 2024, at approximately 12:08 a.m., PSP Lamar initiated a traffic stop in Avis on a bicycle for not stopping at multiple stop signs. Upon investigation, it was determined that the operator, John Hoffman, 26, from Jersey Shore, was under the influence of alcoholic beverages. Criminal charges were filed through District Court 25-3-01.
Motor Vehicle Crash
GREENE TOWNSHIP– A crash occurred On June 2, 2024, as Zachary Degler, 30, from Byron, GA, was traveling west on I-80 near mile marker 185.8. Degler was driving a 2007 Jeep Compass in the right lane and abruptly veered across all lanes of travel before continuing off the left side of the roadway, where he made impact with a culvert. Deger’s vehicle overturned and came to a final rest facing east. Troopers report that Degler was not wearing his seatbelt, but no injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
Motor Vehicle Accident
LAMAR TOWNSHIP– On June 1, 2024, a crash occurred on I-80 West when Rachel Arcure, 27, from Freeland, PA, attempted to negotiate a right turn and traveled off the north side of the roadway before striking a rock embankment. Following the initial impact, the vehicle overturned and continued to travel in a western direction before coming to a final rest off the right side of the roadway. Arcure sustained suspected serious injury as a result of the crash.
Terroristic Threats
PINE CREEK TOWNSHIP– On May 31, 2024, PSP Lamar responded to Big Pine Lane for an altercation that involved a 44-year-old male victim from Jersey Shore. Criminal charges were declined, and no further information was included in the report.
Harassment/Threat of Physical Contact
SOUTH RENOVO– On May 30, 2024, at 4:00 p.m, PSP Lamar took a report of an alleged harassment. Upon initial investigation, it was determined that the arrestee, a 25-year-old female from Renovo, approached the victim, who is identified as a 22-year-old female also from Renovo, and stated that they were going to “hurt” the victim. The arrestee was charged with Harassment through District Court 25-3-03.
Found Property
FLEMINGTON– PSP Lamar is attempting to locate the owner of a Vivi Electric Bicycle that was found on May 28, 2024, at 651 Woods Avenue according to the report issued by the station. Anyone with information should contact PSP Lamar.
Drug Possession
PORTER TOWNSHIP– On May 20, 2024, PSP Lamar received a call about an erratic driver. The caller stated that the involved vehicle nearly struck multiple cars and drove off the highway multiple times. After Trooper Hall observed the driver commit traffic violations, a traffic stop was initiated at 6048 Nittany Valley Drive. The driver, Anne Spagnolo, 41, from Pittsburg, was determined to be under the influence and was arrested for DUI. Charges were filed through District Court 25-3-01.
Theft of Motor Vehicle
DUNNSTABLE TOWNSHIP– PSP Lamar investigated a report of a stolen vehicle on April 28, 2024. The vehicle was unlocked in a residential driveway located on Cider Press Road, and was stolen at some point during the morning of April 28. The vehicle was located while it was being driven on Main Street in Lock Haven. Three juvenile males were found to be driving the vehicle when it was found. Charges related to theft of a motor vehicle as well as theft of tools from the motor vehicle have been filed on two of the three actors involved, ages 15 and 16.
Assault w/Weapon
ALLISON TOWNSHIP– PSP Lamar received a Childline report involving a domestic incident that took place on the Renovo Road. According to the report, the incident occurred sometime between April 1, 2023 and April 30, 2023. The investigation is ongoing, and no further details have been issued at this time.
