Fleeing and Eluding Law Enforcement
LAMAR TOWNSHIP— A PSP Lamar Trooper attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Joshua Allert, 26, from South Ozone Park, NY, on May 17, 2024, but Allert attempted to flee. A police pursuit was in motion until Allert crashed into a guide rail when he attempted to use an off-ramp on I-80. Charges are pending.
Theft
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP– On May 13, 2024, at 9:39 a.m., a donation box was stolen at the Sheetz on Hogan Boulevard in Mill Hall. The actor(s) was stopped by a good samaritan who ultimately was able to return the donation box. This investigation is ongoing.
Motor Vehicle Accident
BEECH CREEK— A crash occurred on May 10, 2024, when Nathaniel Strouse, 21, from Montandon, was traveling west on SR-150. Strouse was negotiating a left-hand curve when he lost control of his vehicle on the wet roadway. The 2015 Audi S4 Strouse was driving was found to have read tires that were not within inspection guidelines, which police say contributed to the loss of control. The vehicle left the roadway and traveled approximately 100 feet before striking a tree and overturning onto its roof. Strouse sustained minor injuries but refused transportation to the hospital, and the Audi sustained disabling damage. Debris from the crash landed in the roadway and was struck by an oncoming motorist, David Gill, 77, from Beech Creek, which caused disabling damage to his 2013 Ford Edge.
DUI
LOCK HAVEN— PSP Lamar Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 2023 Subaru Impreza near the 100 Block of Bellefonte Avenue on April 29, 2024, at 1:35 a.m. An investigation was conducted, which led to the arrest of the 22-year-old male driver from Duboistown, PA, for suspicion of DUI. Charges are pending.
Commercial Vehicle Crash
GREENE TOWNSHIP— On April 3, 2024, Aaron Munoz, 36, from Chicago, IL, was traveling south on North Mill Street when he failed to negotiate a left-hand turn. This caused him to leave the roadway via the west berm and strike the guide rail before continuing approximately 25 feet. The 2021 International Harvester LT Munoz was driving came to a final stop against the guide rail facing south. No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
