Central Mountain Softball falls to South Williamsport Area 5 – 2
SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT-Despite out hitting their opponent, Central Mountain fell to South Williamsport by a score of 2-5.
South Williamsport did most of their scoring in the first inning when they sent 9 batters to plate and collected five hits, including a home run that slammed off the scoreboard in left field. The Mounties added thier only other run of the game in the second inning.
Central Mountain scored their first run of the game in the fouth inning on singles by Harley Kunes, Madison Hardy and Katelyn Bowman. The Wildcats plated their seocond run in the sixth inning on a solo home run by Harley Kunes.
Madison Hardy led the Cats at the plate going 3 for 3 while Kunes and Myers each chipped in two hits.
Camdyn Weaver pitched the complete game for the Wildcats and settled in after the rough first inning. She held the Mounties scoreless the rest of the game allowing only two additional hits and one walk.
Central Mountain’s next game will be on Wednesday, 5/22 when they travel to Bald Eagle Area High School to face the Hollidaysburg Tigers in the District 6 5A final.
