Lady Phoenix fall to CMVT 12-3

BLOOMSBURG- Sugar Valley softball would continue to hit the ball well, but eventually fell on the road at Columbia Montour Vo Tech 12-3.

The Lady Rams would build a 4-0 lead by sprinkling runs throughout the first four innings of play. The Lady Phoenix would finally cross the plate in the top of the fifth inning, but two more CMVT runs would extend their lead to 6-1.

Sugar Valley would have their best inning of the day in the top of the sixth by scoring a pair of runs to trail by only a 6-3 count. CMVT would open things up with a 6-run sixth inning to set the final.

Brynn Swanger, Cheyenne Weaver, Olivia Johnson, Dakota Holdren, Marrin Clester and Evangeline Andrus all had hits for the Lady Phoenix.

Sugar Valley (1-4) will now travel to Bucktail (5-0) tomorrow, weather pending. The Lady Bucks have outscored their opponents through 5 games by a 74-4 count.
