A True Team Player: Mike Flanagan Lauded for Continued Support of Central Mountain Girls’ Basketball Booster Club
MILL HALL-Long time girls basketball booster club president and athletics supporter Mike Flanagan was honored Friday night before the game against Williamsport. Mike was celebrate for his continued dedication to the program and our area over the years. Mike a true community man, helps the community in many ways serving as CEO of the Clinton County Economic Partnership and volunteering with many organizations with countless hours of support to our area.
Central Mountain Girls Basketball head Coach Scott Baker offered these remarks, “Mike has been the girls basketball booster club president for many years. He unselfishly gives of his time and efforts to help ensure that our program has what it needs from a booster standpoint to achieve success. Mike’s contributions are varied. He serves as booster President and oversees all fundraising effort, announces games both girls and boys and ensure that girls games get out to the community through his play by play radio calls on The Record. Mike spends many hours doing what he loves to do and that is watching and supporting HS sports and especially as he likes to say, girls HS athletics. What’s been all the more impressive this season is that despite going through his treatments, Mike has continued to faithfully serve in his many roles. Never one to complain, he just does his stuff for the good of the kids. Equally impressive is that he accepts each of these roles without having any personal interest except that he loves to see the kids and program(s) have success. Mike is the truest definition of a community leader and one that we hope continues to stay involved with our basketball program for many years to come. Simply put, there are no amount of words that could truly explain Mike’s value to our program. He is a tremendous asset. Just an all around good person. Many of us continue to pray for his victory over cancer and celebrate with him in the opportunity that he prayerfully gets this week to ring the bell.”
