LHU’s Shoats earns Men’s Basketball PSAC East Offensive Athlete of the Week
LOCK HAVEN– For the fourth time this season, Lock Haven men’s basketball guard Justice Shoats has brought home a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) award after being named the Eastern Division’s Offensive Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon (Jan. 22).
Shoats has been PSAC Athlete of the Week four times this season, as he earns his first honor on the offensive end, after bringing home the Defensive Athlete of the Week three times this year.
Shoats led the Bald Eagles to a pair of PSAC East victories last week, including knocking off the No. 11/8 team in the country ESU on Wednesday night.
Shoats averaged 19.5 points 4.5 assists and three rebounds per game last week, while getting to the free throw line 8.5 times per game.
In the upset victory over ESU, Shoats scored 19 points, while going 7-of-10 at the foul line, with the majority coming down the stretch to seal the win.
Against Shepherd, Shoats helped the Bald Eagles knock down a season-high 13 trifectas as he dished out a game-high six assists to go with a game-high 20 points.
The warrior has played the full 40 minutes in six straight games.
The Bald Eagles improve to 10-5 overall and 8-2 in the PSAC, remaining in a tie for the top spot in the Eastern Division.
The Bald Eagles, who have not lost in the new year and improve to 5-1 in front of the home crowd. Lock Haven’s six-game winning streak dates back to Dec. 19.
Lock Haven received its first set of votes in the D2CSC Atlantic Region Top-10 Poll on Monday, and is primed to crack the list with another strong week.
