DUI

PINE CREEK TOWNSHIP – According to PSP Lamar reports, a disabled motorist was contacted on SR 220 South near mile marker 118 on December 22, 2023, at 6:39 p.m. Michael Williams, 65, of Williamsport, was driving a 2012 Honda Accord when he was observed to be under the influence of alcohol. Appropriate charges were filed through District Court 25-3-01.

Residential Burglary Without Force

BEECH CREEK – PSP Lamar responded to Peacock Trail in Beech Creek for a suspected burglary that took place between January 12 and January 14, 2024. According to police reports, an unknown actor(s) entered the seasonal residence through the front door and stole various items. This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact PSP Lamar at 570-726-6000.

DUI

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – On January 13, 2024, at approximately 11:52 p.m., PSP Lamar initiated a traffic stop on Hogan Boulevard due to an equipment violation. Upon investigation, police determined that the driver, Matthew Horton, 28, of Lock Haven, was under the influence of alcohol. Chemical testing was consented and charges are pending lab results.

FRAUD / THEFT BY DECEPTION

RENOVO-Renovo Police are investigating a fraud and theft of a 62 year old Chapman Twp resident, who had two transactions totaling $691.60 fraudulently withdrawn from her bank account, in December 2023 and January 2024.  The incident occurred when a male caller with a foreign accent was able to obtain the victim’s personal information during a fraudulent phone call where the caller pretended to be from victim’s insurance company.

ATTEMPTED THEFT BY DECEPTION & IDENTITY THEFT

RENOVO-Renovo Police are investigating an attempted theft by deception and identity theft from a 78 year old Renovo resident on 01/17/24 along Ontario Av.    The victim received messages on her computer and phone calls, and a male suspect with a foreign accent was able to take control of victim’s computer remotely.  The suspect demanded a total of $3,600 from the victim.  However, the victim was able to cancel her bank accounts before the suspect completed any unauthorized transactions.
