Corruption of Minors/Distribution of Marijuana
RENOVO – Renovo police investigated a ChildLine report involving Heather Miles, 36, for providing marijuana to a juvenile during November and December 2023, in Renovo. After investigation, the allegations were determined to warrant charges approved by the District Attorney. Miles was charged with Corruption of Minors and Distribution of marijuana not for sale on January 16, 2024, and charges were filed at Magisterial District Court 25-3-03.
DUI
LOCK HAVEN – On January 13, 2024, at 2:26 a.m., PSP Lamar initiated a traffic stop on East Church Street in Lock Haven for multiple traffic violations. During the investigation, officers found that the vehicle, a 2022 Jeep Wrangler, was involved in a crash on the corner of North Vesper Street and East Church Street. According to police reports, the driver, Coty Jo Miller-Nyman, 36, of Lock Haven, displayed numerous indicators of impairment and was arrested for DUI.
Missing Person
PINE CREEK TOWNSHIP – On January 12, 2024, between 1:30 a.m. and 4:24 a.m., PSP Lamar was notified of a missing person from 474 Spong Hollow Road in Pine Creek Township. The missing person, Esther Haddix, 79, of Lock Haven, has since been located.
Vehicle Crash
GREENE TOWNSHIP – On January 12, 2024, PSP Lamar responded to a vehicle crash that occurred on North Mill Street near exit 185 of I-80 West in Greene Township. Jiachao Chen, M, 32, of Staten Island, NY, was traveling west off the I-80 exit ramp and failed to stop at the ramp’s end. Chen then proceeded across North Mill Street and struck a guard rail. Following the impact, Chen’s 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer rotated clockwise and came to a final rest facing north off the west side of North Mill Street. No injuries were reported from this accident.
Retail Theft/Shoplifting
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – At approximately 7:17 p.m. on January 12, 2024, PSP responded to a report of retail theft at Walmart in Mill Hall. Resulting charges are pending for Jenivieve Steele, 36, of Trout Run. According to police reports, the stolen items included a 5-pound container of ground beef valued at $14.94, Wild Cherry candies and gummy bears, both valued at $4.47, a vine of tomatoes worth $4.14, and a package of flour tortillas valued at $2.78.
DUI
WAYNE TOWNSHIP – On December 23, 2023, at 8:59 p.m., a traffic stop was conducted by PSP Lamar on US 220 North involving a 2023 Honda LTD Civic. According to police reports the driver, identified as G Friant, 72, of Avis, was observed to be under the influence of alcohol. Appropriate charges were filed through Magisterial District Court 25-3-01.
