JERSEY SHORE- Defending D4 4A champions Jersey Shore was looking to pick up some huge playoff power points on Friday evening against 5A Central Mountain in PHAC-1 play.
It wouldn’t take Peyton Dincher, Jocelyn McCracken and the state quarterfinalists from last season, long to make a statement. The Lady Bulldogs jumped out to a quick 20-7 lead after one quarter. An 11-6 second quarter had Shore firmly in control at the break 31-13.
A 10-5 third quarter advantage would give Jersey Shore the 41-18 lead heading into the final quarter.
The heavily favored hosts would finish off the Wildcats 12-10 in the final frame to pick up the victory and improve to 10-3 on the season, just one win shy from qualifying for the District IV 4A playoff field.
The loss dropped the Lady Wildcats to 6-6 on the season. Central will next meet Selinsgrove (4-9) on Tuesday.
Jersey Shore will next be in action on Tuesday when they host Shikellamy.
The Lady Wildcats dropped the JV contest 41-29. Aubrey Eiler led the way with 12 points in the loss.
