Incumbent Fetzer secures Woodward Township supervisor post
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Final unofficial totals from Clinton County’s Tuesday municipal election show that Woodward Township Supervisor Mike Fetzer has retained his seat.
The initial tally Tuesday night after all 34 county precincts had reported showed Republican Eric Jacobs edging the Democrat Fetzer by a 370 to 363 count. But the final mail-in ballots had not been immediately tabulated and when they were, Fetzer finished with 380 votes and Jacobs with 375, a five-vote margin of victory. The final write-in count for the two was Fetzer 130, Jacobs 34.
Fetzer had been appointed a supervisor in January of this year to replace Wayne Love who had resigned last December. Fetzer and Jacobs had both submitted their names as replacements and Fetzer was selected by the township vacancy board.
Fetzer has 39 years in fire-fighting work, most with the Dunnstown Fire Company where he is President and Assistant Chief. He has been with the Keystone Central School District for 14 years, most recently the district’s Environmental Health and Safety Supervisor.
County voter registration director Maria Boileau reported that 1,586 write-in votes were counted Tuesday, the last of those at 10:15 p.m.
She said Thursday the county Canvas & Computation Board will start its official count work on Monday at 9 a.m. She said the board has over 3,000 write-in names to review. Also, the Board of Elections plans on certifying the results on Monday, Nov. 20.
