MILL HALL, PA – In another strong showing on Thursday, both Central Mountain Middle School girls teams came out on top against the visiting Lady Lancers from Loyalsock. The 7th grade team posted their second victory of the young season winning 26-17. Sophia Kelley had another strong offensive showing, pouring in 17 for the victors with Lane Walker following her with 7 points and Lucy Walker also contributed with 2 points from the field. Defensively for the 7th grade team, Jade Welshans and Reese Warner played hard-nosed defense and came up with several steals and stops.
In the 8th grade game the Lady ‘Cats held off a scrappy Loyalsock squad by the score of 29-16. Reagan Weaver pumped in 16 hard earned points and was joined by Payton Williams, 7 points, Kassie Williams, 3 points and Aubrey Miller 2 points. The CM defense was on point once again holding Loyalsock to just 16 points highlighted by Weaver, Payton Williams and Leah Wian making several key stops and steals when they were needed.
