Flemington Bridge overnight closure coming to an end
CLEARFIELD, PA – One day after PennDOT announced it would extend the overnight closure schedule for the Flemington Bridge, the state highway agency announced Wednesday the closure-related work is over.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced it completed overnight work on the Flemington Bridge along Route 150 near Lock Haven last night and that the closures scheduled for Wednesday, October 4, and Thursday, October 5, will not be implemented. One lane will remain open to traffic for the project’s duration.
Temporary traffic signals continue to enforce an alternating traffic pattern that will see drivers take turns crossing the bridge via the open lane. The bridge will remain closed to pedestrians during this phase of the construction.
This bridge preservation project will extend the life of this and two other structures in Clinton County. A Route 150 bridge spanning Chatham Run in Dunnstable Township and a Route 220 bridge spanning Route 2006 and Fishing Creek in Lamar Township also saw work as part of this project. Work on those bridges is complete.
HRI, Inc. of State College, PA, is the contractor for this $3.5 million job. PennDOT anticipates reopening to two-way traffic by Thanksgiving.
