CM XC teams in action at Mifflinburg

MIFFLINBURG, PA – The Central Mountain girls cross country team competed in a five-team meet at Mifflinburg on Tuesday. The girls defeated Mifflinburg 19-42 but lost two close races to Southern Columbia 28-27 and Hughesville 29-26.

The Central Mountain boys squad also took part. The boys defeated Mifflinburg 15-48, Muncy 16 – 47, and Southern Columbia 19-40, but fell to Hughesville 39-16.

Damien Winner took the lead from the start of the race and looked strong at the 1-mile mark. A pack of fo Hughesville runners reeled him in and by mile 2 they caught up to the Wildcat sophomore. Winner would finish 5th overall on the day. It was not a day to set new PR’s for the Wildcats, but they competed hard and finished close to their best times.

Both Wildcat teams will travel to Shikellamy next Tuesday for their last PHAC meet of the season.
