State police investigating Friday night homicide in Woodward Township

WOODWARD TOWNSHIP, PA – The state police Troop F Major Case Team is investigating a Friday night Woodward Township incident they are terming a homicide.

An overnight state police press release said the incident occurred at 330 Brewery Hill Road and the victim was identified as Jakob Lee Haines, 21, of Beech Creek. Their report said he succumbed at the scene to a single gunshot wound.

As per their initial report: “A known male actor was taken into custody at the scene. The actor will be charged with one count of criminal homicide, one count of aggravated assault and one count of recklessly endangering another person.” Police said the accused, whom they did not identify, was to be held at the Clinton County Correctional Facility until he is arraigned on the charges.

Police said there are no other suspects at large and there is no danger to the public as a result of the incident; they said no other information will be released at this time. Time of the incident was listed as about 8:30 p.m.
