Stephen Lee named LHU vice president for enrollment management/student affairs

LOCK HAVEN — Dr. Stephen Lee has been named vice president for enrollment management and student affairs at Lock Haven University as of Aug. 12. In this role, he will oversee the operations of the Center for Excellence and Inclusion and the offices of admissions, financial aid, registrar and student and residence life.

“We are fortunate to have someone with Stephen’s experience and record of accomplishments in this most critical area on our executive team and we welcome him and his family back home,” said LHU President, Dr. Robert Pignatello. “With his leadership we will be in a much stronger position to recruit new students and make sure all students have a successful and supported experience while they are here, that keeps them enrolled and prepares them for success when they graduate.”

Lee, who has nearly 30 years of experience working in higher education, comes to LHU from West Virginia University, where he served as the associate vice president for enrollment management since 2015. He also held the position of executive director of admissions and recruitment at WVU from 2011-15. Lee returns to The Haven, after previously serving as LHU’s associate director of admissions from 1997-2001 and the director of admissions from 2001-2011. He also has held positions in the admissions offices at Siena College, University of Texas at San Antonio and Keystone Junior College.

Lee received a bachelor’s degree in secondary education and teaching from LHU in 1989, a master’s degree in educational psychology from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1995 and a Doctor of Education in administration and leadership studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2010.

“I am very pleased to return to a university and community that have had such a positive impact on my personal and professional life,” Lee said. “It is an honor to lead the Division of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs at Lock Haven University and to work with the talented employees in the division, and throughout the university community, who are dedicated to our mission. It is an exciting time to be back at The Haven and I look forward to the opportunity that the division has to help the university meet the external challenges that exist in higher education right now.”
