Clinton County Democrats partner with Haven Cupboard to deliver nonperishable food, donations

LOCK HAVEN, PA – The Clinton County Democratic Committee teamed up with partner locations across Clinton County to donate more than 400 pounds of food and monetary donations to the Haven Cupboard, an organization dedicated to combating food insecurity for students at Lock Haven University.

Marking the January 18th National Day of Service, which celebrates the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the local Democratic party set an ambitious goal to help fill the pantry of students and provide some relief while COVID-19 continues to affect the community.

“I am touched that so many of our members came together to donate over 400 pounds of food and money to the Haven Cupboard,” said Democratic Party Chairwoman Rose Reeder. “The last 10 months have taken a big economic toll on families and businesses, so we knew it was a big ask for people to give even more to make this effort possible. The Democratic Committee is honored to be able to give back to the community, and to play a role in helping these students to be successful.”

Additional donations of non-perishable food items to the Haven Cupboard can be dropped off at 320 W. Church Street on Wednesdays from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursdays from 12-1 p.m. and 3-5 p.m.
