BUDSTOCK is happy to present Over the Influence, a crowd favorite, back to the BUDSTOCK stage for the 3rd year.
Over The Influence is a classic rock group that was formed by four men from the Clearfield-Curwensville area in the late 70’s. All four members all started out, like many bands of that era, playing in different groups while in school in the late 60’s. The early 70’s saw them playing together off and on in different combinations, but in 1979 they came together in their current form, and evolved into a very solid group.
During the next several years, they played successfully throughout the area and gained a large following. Playing mostly weddings, reunions and parties they offered an excellent variety of music ranging from Top 40 Rock, some country, and even a few standards that appealed to a wide audience. The group reluctantly disbanded in 1986 due to job and family commitments, but they stayed in touch during the ensuing years.
In May, 2015 they decided to regroup, and since then have been putting together a very exciting and varied list of classic rock songs, the kind of which that made them popular back in the early and mid- 80’s. The group instrumentally is strong, and all members share lead vocals, with a very strong emphasis on three and four part harmony. The band consists of Mark Sopic, lead guitar player from Curwensville, Dave Curulla, rhythm guitar and harmonica from Clearfield, Denny Accordino on drums also from Clearfield and Jeff Johnston, formerly of Clearfield, and currently from Mill Hall on bass guitar.
The band has many years of experience, and look forward to entertaining all audiences that enjoy classic rock and who want to have a great time.
The Bak-2-Skool Jazz Band was formed in 2016, by a group of adult musicians from central Pennsylvania who love to play jazz. Participants travel from throughout the region to rehearse and perform in and around the Mill Hall area.
In its first year, the Bak-2-Skool Jazz Band performed at the Clinton County Fair and the Monument Tree-Lighting Festival. The group also plans to continue holding concerts in conjunction with the Central Mountain Jazz Cats, the student jazz ensemble from Central Mountain Middle and High Schools. Through these side-by-side performances, the Bak-2-Skool Jazz Band has played a significant role in the jazz education of our area’s student musicians, while also enjoying opportunities to perform for local communities.
