Local teams Prepare for Playoffs

Three local spring sports teams are playoff bound this coming week.

bucks-baseballBucktail (No. 3 seed) baseball team has earned the privilege to host a first round District 4 A game with St. John Neumann (No. 6 seed) on Wednesday, May 21 at 4:30 p.m. The winner of that game will face Line Mountain at Bowman Field in Williamsport on Saturday May, 24 at 11 a.m. The winner of that contest will take on the victor of the top half of the bracket. Canton (No. 1 seed) and Line Mountain have byes in the first round. Canton will face the victor of Muncy (No. 4 seed) and Montgomery (No 5 seed) who will also play May 21. The District 4 A title game is scheduled for Wednesday, May 28 at Bowman Field with the first pitch set for 4:30 p.m.

cm-softballThe Lady Wildcats (No. 1 seed) will also be busy on May 21 hosting Altoona (No. 4 seed) at 4 p.m. On the same night, State College (No. 3 seed) will travel to Mifflin County (No. 2 seed). The winners of these two contests will meet at Nittany Lion Softball Park on the campus of Penn State University May 28, at a time to be determined, for the District 6 AAAA championship.

cm-baseballFor District 6 AAAA baseball, Central Mountain (No. 3 seed) will travel to Mifflin County (No. 2 seed) for the third consecutive season to face the Huskies in the first round of post season. State College (No. 1 seed) will host Altoona (No. 4 seed) on the same evening. The winners of these two contests will face off at Blair County Ballpark on Tuesday, May 27 at 4 p.m.
