Summer of the seal coat: coming soon to a road near you
LOCK HAVEN, PA – PennDOT plans to begin major seal coating work in Clinton County starting Tuesday, June 20, including along Route 120 between Lock Haven and Renovo, Route 144 South, Kettle Creek Road, Hyner Mountain Road, and a small section of the Island Road.
The work will not require any detours, but single-lane traffic will be in place and traffic delays can be anticipated. The Clinton County Economic Partnership relayed word of the planned work and encouraged motorists to plan accordingly. While all work is weather dependent, the PennDOT schedule calls for seal coating to take place from June 20 through July 12 (with no work planned July 1-5 during the July 4 holiday).
• The first two days, work will take place along State Route 4001 (Kettle Creek Road) from the intersection of Route 144 in Cross Fork to Whiskey Springs.
• Seal coating will then move to Route 144 South, starting just outside South Renovo Borough to the Centre County line and back, a several-day project.
• Work then moves from South Renovo into Renovo along Route 120, initially coming south down to just past Hyner, then continuing down to Hanna Park/Sugar Run Road in Lock Haven.
• As seal coating work heads north along Route 120, crews are also slated to seal coat State Route 1014 (Hyner Mountain Road), then come back and complete seal coating along Route 120 to the bridge heading into Renovo.
• A final section of seal coating will be done along State Route 1002, Island Road, starting under the Constitution Bridge and down to the second Island Bridge and back.
