Shady, Lindsey Selected for PSBCA Senior All Star-Game

Lesser to be Inducted into D6 Hall of Fame
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Two seniors from the Central Mountain 2013 softball team that advanced to the PIAA quarterfinal round, will be participating in the District 6 Vs. District 4 PSBCA Senior All Star-Game on thursday June 19, 2014 at Beard Field on the campus of Penn State University.
Standout pitcher, Rachael Shady and leadoff hitter, Moriah Lindsey will represent Central Mountain and honored for their contributions to District 6 softball. Other members of the squad were also invited to play in the game but due to scheduling conflicts are unable to participate.
The complete list of Lady Wildcat District 6 All-Starrs includes: Pitcher – Rachael Shady; Catcher – Lauren Russell; First Base – Jordan Kaler; Second Base – Mariah Major; Third Base – Bree Hilty; Shortstop – Jess Strouse; Center Field – Moriah Lindsey; Right Field – Avery Shaffer.
Festivities will begin at 6 p.m. when Taylor Lesser (CM Class of 2009) will be inducted into the District 6 PSBCA Hall of Fame. Lesser, who spent much of her career on the mound for the Lady Wildcats continued her softball career with Lycoming College (Class of 2013) where she achieved the record of all-time hits leader for the Lady Warriors.
Lesser finished her collegiate career with a program-record 135 hits. She is also 13th with a .329 batting average, seventh with 17 doubles, sixth with 54 RBI, fourth with 159 total bases, fourth with 42 walks, fifth with 67 runs scored and second with 133 games played.
She capped her career with a fine senior season in 2013, hitting .347 with a team-leading 35 hits, 21 runs scored, five doubles and a .404 on-base percentage. A smooth fielding second baseman, she earned Second Team All-Commonwealth Conference honors.
Lesser also just completed her first season as assistant coach for Lycoming softball.
The game is a pre-defined ten inning event in order to allow playing time for all the participants.
Pre-game warmups will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the first pitch slated for 7 p.m.
