Lady Wildcats Cruisin’
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP — Another game, another win for the Central Mountain softball team.
The Lady ‘Cats stretched their winning streak to six in a 14-2 four inning romp over Shikellamy on Tuesday. Five first inning runs and seven more in the second allowed coach Dave Peters to get a lot of his players into the game.
Central Mountain took advantage of four first inning walks and three in the second to open things up. The first inning saw a sacrifice fly from Mariah Major, a two RBI single from Madison Brown, an RBI groundout from Caitlyn Brush and an RBI single from Kim Coder.
The bats came alive in inning number two: back-to-back-to-back doubles from Jess Strouse, Bree Hilty and Major, followed by an RBI single from Coder. Brown added a later single and also went the distance to pick up the win.
Central Mountain is 12-4 on the year and preps for a key Heartland Conference contest at Jersey Shore on Friday.
