Lady ‘Cats Collect Fourth Win on the Week
Central Mountain Regroups for 15-5 Win over Shamokin
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Sparked by a solid triple in the third inning by, senior Bree Hilty, the Lady Wildcats erased a 2 run deficit then marched to a 14-5 win over visiting Shamokin.
The Lady Cats won their fourth game in 5 days on the week. They also started their fourth different starting pitcher of the week.
Friday’s game saw CM get off to a slow start, but once they got rolling, they never stopped. Shamokin jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first, and CM didn’t respond until the third inning. The the Lady Wildcats proceed to pile up 14 runs.
Hilty started the scoring in the third, with a 2-RBI triple then she scored on the overthrow at third to give CM a 3-2 edge. Hilty paced the Cats as she went 2 for 3 on the day with 4 RBI. Hilty had lots of help at the plate, as 6 different CM batters contributed 2 hits each. Sarah Reeder launched a 3-run HR to go along with a single. Jess Stouse, Cait Brush, Mariah Major, and Josie Dershem all had multiple hits.
Ashley Glossner picked up the win in relief of Reeder. Cait Brush came on to close out the game, pitching in the 5th and 6th innings. Central Mountain moves to 10-4 on the season.
