Lady Wildcats Continue Streak
DANVILLE – After back-to-back 15-run rule games, the Central Mountain softball team found itself in a different type of game on Thursday. They proved they can adapt, and earned a tough 3-1 road victory at Danville.
The “trio at the top” of the Lady Wildcat lineup continued to show their skills as Josie Dershem, Jess Strouse and Bree Hilty all had multiple hits.
Dershem was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two stolen bases; Strouse and Hilty each went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Madison Brown added a late inning single to drive in the third CM run. Emily Strouse pitched well in the circle and earned the win. She gave up only a final inning unearned run. Strouse showed excellent control as she kept the Danville offense befuddled. She also racked up 5 strikeouts and scattered 3 hits on the day. CM won their third straight, and moved to 9-4 n the season. They are at home Friday with Shamokin.
