Convergence of Past, Present Art Exhibit

2D and 3D Art Exhibit to Open at The Station Gallery

LOCK HAVEN – The CCAC is pleased to announce the first of 15 artists exhibits scheduled this year. The “Convergence of Past, Present, 2D and 3D art exhibit is a compilation of artwork by the Lock Haven University Fine Arts Society students along with archive pieces from the University’s extensive art collection.

Lock Haven University art students and Fine Art Society Officers Michelle Albert and Logan Eck will be displaying 2D and 3D art works. Albert’s works will include Graphic Design pieces such as event posters and typographical works. Her posters are influenced by various subjects such as famous designers, art movements, motorsports, fashion, and music. Albert’s art also includes abstract Digital Photography, and “Light Painting”. Eck will be showing a variety of pottery he created. To describe his works, Eck said, “The pieces in the show are formed through my exploration into the effects of glazing. Each work combines the same combination of glaze. Yet, due to the nature of ceramics, each one is infinitely unique.”

In addition to the FAS students’ art, Jason Bronner, Lock Haven University Art Collections Curator, and visual arts faculty member, has assembled an outstanding collection of works from the LHU permanent art collection.

The selections include contemporary artists such as American photographer Stephen Althouse as well as work from 19th Century European artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Lock Haven University has a collection of historically well-known artists such Tououse-Lautrec, Picasso, and Durer and it continues to add to its collection of contemporary American artists such as the aforementioned Althouse.

The LHU Student club, the Fine Arts Society, working in conjunction with Jason Bronner, have selected the works for display. Professor Bronner noted his excitement at exhibiting these works as it allows more people in the Lock Haven community to see some of the fine art from the University.

“We are pleased to initiate our 2015 Invitational Artist Series with this exciting exhibit, stated Jeannine Lipez, CCAC Board member. This is the second annual LHU / FAS event at The Station Gallery and is another wonderful example of how the collaboration between LHU and the CCAC can benefit not only the students but the entire community as well. We invite everyone to come to the reception and support these talented students and view an array of spectacular artwork.”

The Opening will be held on Friday January 30th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Everyone is welcome so we encourage you to invite your friends and family to attend the exhibit opening. The Station Gallery is located at 2 East Bald Eagle Street, Lock Haven, PA.
