‘Dawgs and ‘Cats Face Off Tonight

cm-footballBALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Tonight’s regular season finale between Central Mountain and Jersey Shore will have historical implications regardless of the outcome. There is indeed much that could be achieved for both teams that could have lasting implications.

The ‘Dawgs come into Malinak Stadium on a mission seeking their first undefeated regular season since 1949 … which would place them in a perfect position for the District 4 playoffs.

On the other side of the coin … if the Wildcats can pull out an upset victory, the effort could go a very long way in erasing the past eight consecutive losses. Such a result could set the tone for the program well into the future.

Rest assured that whether you are fan of the Orange and Black or Blue and White … both squads will show up to make the most of the 48 minutes they will have available and leave everything on the field when the final horn sounds. The Bulldogs have proven they can go the extra mile for a win even if it requires overtime. Likewise, the Wildcats have shown that when the prospects are bleak, they don’t quit or take the easy way out. While not all the fans may get the final score they hope for, every ticket holder will indeed get their money’s worth of down-home old school football rivalry.

Plan on getting to the stadium early as a large crowd is expected. Central Mountain will also honor the senior class members of the football team, cheerleaders and marching band members before the game. Dress warm because the forecast is calling for declining temps and a possible sprinkle.

Don’t worry if you can’t make it to the game, we will offer live updates from the sideline after each quarter.

Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. Listen to the action live on WBPZ 1230 AM or online at www.wsqvradio.com
