CM Places Second at Heartland Golf

cm-golfLOYALSOCK TOWNSHIP – The Wildcat golfers struggled today against the Heartland teams at the extremely challenging Williamsport Country Club.

The roughs were thick and greens fast and full of undulating slopes.

Coach Dave Williams was apprehensive about the outlook after talking to them early in the rounds as their struggling turned into frustration.

The Wildcats were paired with the Selinsgrove Seals head to head for the League conference final match.

After all the scores were tallied and the 4-person low totals were added, the Seals came out on top and earned the number one spot with a 27-3 record.

The Wildcats came in with an honorable second with a record of 24-6.

Team totals were Wildcats, 398, Loyalsock/Montoursville, 418, Mifflinburg, 374, Selinsgrove 369, Shikellamy, 407, and Williamsport, 403.

The overall medalist for the day was William Knauth, 80 for Williamsport. Medalist for the Wildcats was Gage Sorgen carding in a score of 93.

Other Wildcat scores were, Peter Anastos, 106, Cole Reeder, 101, Alexis Anastos, 98, Justin Somers, 114, and Troy Smith, 107.

The team record is now 29-8 against both leagues.

The team will travel back to Mountain View Golf Course in Boalsburg Thursday to take on Penns Valley and Phillipsburg Oceola.
