cm-soccerBALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – The Lady Wildcat soccer team made it’s home field debut Monday evening hosting Danville.

Form the start, both teams traded volleys playing very aggressively in the middle of the field with each team’s defense holding the opponent at bay when scoring attempts were made.

Just after the 30 minute mark in the first period, Kathryn Myers found a crease in the Lady Ironman defense and was able to angle the ball into the net in from a free kick.

After intermission, Central Mountain settled in a bit more continuing to play aggressively, keeping the pressure on Danville along with a unforgiving defense.

Six minutes into the second period, Myers was called upon once more to put the ball in play following a penalty near midfield. Myers lofted the ball over the Danville defense allowing Jamey Renninger to utilize her speed to hit the gap past the defensive wall and had only the keeper between her and the goal. Renninger drilled the ball low and past the Lady Ironman keeper for the goal and a CM 2-0 lead with 33:35 remaining.

The Lady Wildcat defense held onto the shutout, led by keeper, Bree Hilty who tallied nine saves on the night.

Next up for Central Mountain is a road trip to Shikellamy on Wednesday.
