bucks-tennisHERSHEY – Coaches Dan and Alison Heiser can say their season ended at Hershey this year, but not without saying that their Lady Bucks players Maria Morgan and Abby Ransom fought to the very end of their match before losing 2-6, 6-2, 6-4 to District VII champs Amy Cheng and Jappman Monga of Sewickley Academy. Just to give you folks where this team is from, it is a suburb of Pittsburgh.

The first set was unbelievable. Everyone that was there watching could not believe the way these two girls performed. Coach Heiser said “they came out and showed why they belong here. They showed who they are and why there was such a big uproar about them, coming from Bucktail.”

After winning the first set, Morgan/Ransom was playing even with Sewickley in the second set but dropped the next four games after being tied 2-2. Sewickley got a few bounces to go their way and finally was able to get past Bucktail 6-4

Ransom talked about “a life-changing experience being here but when we walked out on that court we just had to block everything out, no worries besides just playing tennis. We wouldn’t have made it this far if it wasn’t for the support of our community.”

“There’s not one word that can explain it,” Morgan said. “This is something you’ll never forget, you’ll always remember it. I’m glad that I got to experience it with Abby. I wouldn’t want it to be with anyone else. We loved every minute for the support our community gave us. They have been with us the whole time.”

You don’t get to this point without good coaching. Dan and Alison Heiser received high praise from Morgan and Ransom. Dan Heiser said, “It can’t be said enough, but these two girls weren’t afraid of the moment.” They proved themselves and this doubles team had their sights on doing even better next year.

Coach Dan and Alison along with the Lady Bucks Tennis team cannot say enough “THANK YOU” to the Renovo Community for giving us a Championship Parade last Wednesday evening. A special Thanks to Mark Campbell for setting everything up with local Fire Companies in the area. Also Thank You to K&L Auto Sales for the special ride that Jamie Kelley had for Morgan and Ransom and to all the others who participated in the parade. It was a very special night that will be remembered by all of us. THANK YOU!

Morgan and Ransom knew that they did not just represent Bucktail and the entire Renovo Area. But they stood for Keystone Central School District, Northern Tier League and District IV. We probably had the biggest fan base there at Hershey not only in spirit but in person. For you fans that stood there and watched our two and a half hour match, we cannot Thank You enough for traveling there to watch. GREAT JOB LADIES!! Everyone is proud of the job you ladies did. No matter what, Abby Ransom and Maria Morgan are STATE CHAMPS to all of us.
