Lady Bucks Drub Neumann in Opener

FARWELL — Coming off an undefeated regular season a year ago, the Bucktail Lady Bucks tennis team started the 2014 season as it finished a year ago, a dominating Monday win over St. John Neumann 5-0.
Bucktail is playing in the Heartland Conference this season and will be playing five of the teams in their division, St. John Neumann first on the schedule.
For Coaches Dan and Alision Heiser they could not be more proud on the way the girls played in their first match.
Single matches saw senior Maria Morgan win a two and a half hour three set match (5-7, 6-4, 6-2). Senior Abby Ransom won by (6-1, 6-2). Senior Alaina Tripp won (6-0, 6-0). Then in doubles, sophomores Emalea Mills and Hailey Risley won (6-0,6-1). Sophomore Brigdet Gardner and Amanda Tyrell won (6-0, 6-2).
More details about the Heartland League will be in the Fall Sports Issue next week. Bucktail will be playing at home on Monday August 25th against Montgomery starting at 4 p.m. The Lady Bucks were to have played Muncy this past Wednesday at home.
