Free Meals for Youth Available in Monument and Orviston Starting Thursday

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – The Keystone Central School District has announced that starting Thursday, April 23, free breakfast and lunch meals will be available for any child 18 and under and residing in the Monument and Orviston attendance areas of the district.

The meals will be available each Monday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Monument Church at 114 Rose Way in Monument and the Orviston Bible Church at 59 Main Road in Orviston.

The guidelines as issued by Keystone Central:

The school district children will receive seven breakfast meals and seven lunch meals per week. Breakfast and lunch meals will be served to families and caregivers by a drive through / walk-up pick up service.
All breakfast and lunch meals should be refrigerated as soon as possible. Hot entrees and vegetables should be reheated in the microwave or on a stove. Uneaten perishable breakfast and lunch food received Monday should be discarded on Thursday, and uneaten perishable breakfast and lunch food received on Thursday should be discarded on the following Monday.
Children, parents, caregivers, and family members will not be permitted into buildings. Meals are meant to be taken home to eat.

Families may walk to all school sites to pick up meals but are asked not to congregate at the pick-up site to help prevent illness.
