Fishing Creek Bridge Repairs to Start Monday on Mackeyville Road

LOCK HAVEN – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is alerting drivers that a bridge on the Mackeyville Road (Route 2004) will be closed Monday, August 5 for repair work. The open-grate bridge spans Fishing Creek south of the intersection with Route 64. Making repairs to the bridge will prevent PennDOT from posting weight restrictions. The bridge was built in 1950 and carries an average of 665 vehicles daily.

During the closure, an official detour will be in place directing drivers to use Route 2004, Route 2008 (Fairground Road/Auction Road), Route 220, and Route 2006 (Gilmore Road).

All work will be performed by PennDOT Clinton County Maintenance. Repairs consist of removing and replacing deteriorated sections of the iron grate deck. Dependent on weather and work progress, repairs are expected to last through the week and be complete sometime on Friday, August 9.

PennDOT reminds drivers to use caution in and around work zones, follow official detour signs, obey posted speed limits, and always buckle up.
