Highlights from State Track & Field

SHIPPENSBURG – It was a busy two days at Shippensburg University as the top high school athletes in the state faced off with state titles on the line for the PIAA track and field state championships.

Jena Toner, the District 6 champion for the girls’ 100M dash,  set a competitive pace in her preliminary heat clocking in at 12.25. Toner matched that effort exactly in the second heat of the semi-finals but fell short of the top eight to advance to the finals.

In boys’ AAA discus action, Loc Long placed 15th in the finals with a throw of 128′ 1″. Then Kyler Klein placed 9th in the boys’ AAA javelin with a throw of 184′ 8″.
