Len Vuocolo Inducted into D6 Wrestling Hall

ALTOONA – A former standout Lock Haven High School athlete was inducted into the District 6 Wrestling Hall of Fame at ceremonies at the district wrestling tournament on Saturday.

Family members of the late Anthony “Len” Vuocolo were in attendance to receive the recognition for Vuocolo, a 1956 graduate of Lock Haven High who went on to wrestle at the University of Pittsburgh, graduating in 1960. He spent his adult life in Michigan where he was general manager of a General Motors plant in Ypsilanti.

Vuocolo was a PIAA runner-up in wrestling in 1956 and was a star football player at Lock Haven High. His six sons were all scholarship athletes in the state of Michigan. Vuocolo passed away in 2003.

Receiving the plaque Saturday was his daughter, Gina Vuocolo- Branch of Ann Arbor, MI. Also in attendance were his son Andy and grandson John; Vuocolo’s brother, Steve, of Mechancisburg, was on the right.
