Marcella G. (Bradney) Bratton – Obituary

Marcella G. (Bradney) Bratton, 80, of Renovo passed away Friday, February 23, 2018 at Haven Rehab and Skilled Nursing, Lock Haven.

She was born August 16, 1937 in Renovo a daughter of the late Howard E. and Pauline V. (Foulke) Bradney.

Marcella was married on June 2, 1956 to Joseph H. Bratton who died May 19, 2001. They celebrated 44 years of marriage together.

She worked for Bell Telephone in Lancaster, Maxwell Furniture Store and Sears catalog store in Renovo. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a co-founder of “Heavenly Racks.”

She was a member of the Flaming Foliage Committee and was an avid reader.

Surviving are two sons; Mark S. (Brenda Engle) Bratton and Timothy P. (Krista Gray) Bratton both of Renovo and two daughters; Paula R. (Keith) Bloodgood of S. Williamsport and Kelly A. (Charles) Nihart of Hyner.

17 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Also surviving are three brothers; Philip (Patti) Bradney, Painted Post, NY, David (Minerva) Bradney, San Antonio, TX, Paul (Doris Ann) Bradney of Ridgecrest, CA. and one sister Bonnie (Kevin) Finnefrock of North Bend also a special adopted daughter and son-in-law Jack and Sue Emerick of Colorado.

She was preceded in death by a great grandson Derrick Anthony Bloodgood.

The funeral will be held at 12:00 pm. on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church, 127 Seventh St., Renovo with Pastor Doug Conway and Martha Sykes officiating.

Friends and relatives will be received from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the church.

The family will provide the flowers. Memorial contributions can be made to the First United Methodist Church in her memory.

Private burial will be at North Bend Cemetery.
