Lock Haven City Council Organizes for New Year

Lock Haven City Council 2018, Mayor Bill Baney, seated, and standing, from the left, Joel Long, Sara Stringfellow, Steve Stevenson, Rick Conklin, Doug Byerly. Absent Jonathan Bravard.

LOCK HAVEN – Monday night was a night of transition for City Council. At its first meeting of the new year council formally accepted the written resignation of longtime city manager Rich Marcinkevage and formally approved the promotion/appointment of previous assistant city manager Greg Wilson to, officially, City Manager/City Clerk effective with the Monday meeting.

Mayor Bill Baney administered the oath of office to those city council members elected last November. They are incumbents Steve Stevenson and Rick Conklin, along with former council member Joel Long who had been returned to council in November. Also elected in November was incumbent Jonathan Bravard but he again was not present and according to city manager Wilson has yet to turn in the required documentation for his council seating. Bravard’s attendance at council meetings has been limited for some time because of health issues. City Treasurer Paula Dickey was also sworn in for another term as treasurer.

Among organizational matters addressed at the meeting was the return of Stevenson as council vice-president. Only council member Conklin voted no, stating he thought the position should be rotated among council members.
