CM Hoops Edged by Shik 60-55
SUNBURY – Central Mountain (3-2, 2-1) was on the road tonight for a key PHAC matchup with Shikellamy. The ‘Cats kept it close for the duration of the game but came up a few points short at the end losing 60-55.
Central Mountain held a 11-9 edge after one period but Shik battled back outscoring the Wildcats 17-14 in the second quarter to hold a slim 26-25 lead at the half.
In the third quarter it was a neck-and-neck race with the Braves hanging on to a 45-43 lead with 8 minutes remaining. The fourth quarter was more of the same as Shik pulled ahead a bit more outscoring CM 15-12 for the 60-55 win.
Matt Storeman paced the Wildcats with 21 points with Colin Jones adding 14 and Trevor Hanna scoring 12, half of which came from outside the 3-point arc. Isaiah McCann contributed 8 points on the night to close out the scoring.
The loss is the Wildcats first in conference action this season. Central Mountain will take a break for the holidays and next see action when they host Huntingdon on Jan. 3, 2018.
