DuBois Drops Lady ‘Cats, 57-30

DU BOIS – The Lady Wildcats made a westerly trip out I-80 to face District 9 foe, DuBois. Though Central Mountain is showing improvement, the Lady Beavers pounced on an early lead and handed CM a 57-30 loss.

The Lady ‘Cats fell behind quickly in the first quarter 18-2 and were trailing 28-8 at the break. DuBois kept stride in the third quarter but Central Mountain picked up the pace of their offense considerably with the hosts edging CM 19-13 in the period giving DuBois a 47-21 lead with one quarter remaining.

Central Mountain once again kept up with DuBois and were only edged 10-9 in the fourth quarter, but the Lady Beavers had that big early edge to lean on for the 57-30 win.

Morgan Wetzel and Taylor Fletcher led CM with 8 points each while Katie Burrows added 5 more points. Summer Flanagan, Talyn Fredericks, Madison Courter and Marissa Moyer all had a bucket each with Quinlynn McCann nailing a free throw to round out the scoring.

The loss takes Central Mountain to 0-4 on the season and will next see action on Monday, Dec. 18, 2017 when they will open their PHAC schedule with Mifflinburg.
