‘Cats fall to Hollidaysburg, 68-58

HOLLIDAYSBURG – Central Mountain had a road trip Wednesday night to face District 6 foe, Hollidaysburg and came up a bit short, falling to the Golden Tigers 68-58.

The Wildcats kept pace with the hosts and were tied 11-all after one period then Hollidaysburg managed to gain a slight lead in the second quarter outscoring the ‘Cats 18-14 to hold a 29-25 lead at the break.

The Golden Tigers then proceeded to maintain that momentum in the third quarter by outpacing CM 21-14 giving them a more comfortable 50-39 advantage heading into the final 8 minutes.

Central Mountain picked up the pace in the fourth quarter and edged the hosts in that period 19-18 but the effort fell short of their goal resulting in the 68-58 final.

Trevor Hanna led the ‘Cats with 15, including 2 field goals from outside the arc. Colin Jones was right behind Hanna with 12 points followed by Isaiah McCann with 11, Matt Storeman with 10 and Jake Skrtich with 8 points. Tyler Adair added 2 points to round out the scoring.

The loss takes the Wildcats to 1-1 on the new season.

Next up for Central Mountain for their first PHAC action when they will travel to Shamokin for an afternoon contest, Saturday, Bec. 16, 2017. The JV game will start at noon followed by the varsity game at 1:30 p.m.
