Water Street Nutrition to Serve Healthy Shakes, Treats

LOCK HAVEN – A new business offering an alternative healthy snack – or meal – option is expected to open later this month in Lock Haven.

Water Street Nutrition is Samantha Wian’s dream business: a community space combined with a healthy slate of offerings for patrons. She will officially open the doors to the public on Monday, November 13.

When you walk through the doors, you won’t see fitness equipment lined up against the walls, however. Instead, you’ll find a bar, stools, and a menu.

“Everything is focused on nutrition and the community, and is based off Herbalife,” she said, explaining that Herbalife is a global nutrition and weight management company that offers a slate of weight management products and nutrition supplements. “We’ll be serving the shakes, teas and treats here.”

Wian said the shakes are considered a complete meal replacement or can be just a sweet treat.

“My goal is to help better the community and provide a resource for healthy meals on the go,” she said “Water Street Nutrition is a community space where people can come for a shake or smoothie and also have the opportunity to learn about nutrition. We provide one-on-one coaching, support, and a nutrition program that can easily be continued at home.”

Programs offered at Water Street Nutrition are designed to fit a variety of lifestyles and body types, according to Wian. “It’s one of those situations where anyone can benefit. We have programs specialized for those who are actively working out, programs for those who just want to lose weight, and programs for those who simply want better nutrition.”

The Antes Fort native is now a Lock Haven resident and she is hoping to impact her community in a positive way with this new venture.

“I wanted to get involved in this area because I saw the positive affects we had in the community of Williamsport,” she said of her experience working at Rise and Shine Nutrition, also an Herbalife-based nutrition club. “I am a full time sleep technician and I know the health issues that can arise from obesity. I also understand how much easier it can be to better your nutrition than it is to treat the diseases poor nutrition can lead to.”

Having a brick-and-mortar location where people can stop in for a snack or shake provides an extra layer of convenience and support for long-term clients, she noted. “This gives us that outlet to connect with the community and people who may be seeking these services but don’t always have the resources.”

Wian said she is excited about her location at 140 E. Water St. “I’m looking forward to building the connections in Lock Haven and being involved in the downtown community.”
