Lady Wildcats Bow Out of D6-9 Tourney with 5-0 Loss to Altoona
ALTOONA – Central Mountain tennis finished their 2017 season with a 5-0 loss to the Lady Mountain Lions of Altoona. The District 6-9 No. 1 seed lived up to their billing in the win over the Lady Wildcats.
Altoona’s Jess Stevens defeated CM’s Jolee McCluskey, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, with Maura Skelley taking down Lady ‘Cat, Kendall McCluskey, 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2. At No. 3 singles it was Altoona’s Lindsey Hallinan besting Central Mountain’s Katherine Strouse, 6-2, 6-2.
In No. 1 doubles action, Lady Mountain Lions, Kayley Burke and Alesa Rinker defeated Central Mountain’s Natalie Brown and Jess Piergallini, 6-1, 6-1. At No. 2 doubles it was Altoona’s Zoe Wilson and Jasmine VonColln won over CM’s Olivia Anastos and Carolina Carpenetti, 6-0, 6-0.
The loss takes Central Mountain to 15-4 overall and a share in the PHAC title with Williamsport.
