Wildcats Dispatch Shamokin 5-0

cm-soccer SHAMOKIN – It was a good night for the Wildcat soccer team as they picked up a 5-0 road win over Shamokin. The victory over the Indians puts Central Mountain at 4-6-1 on the season.

The Indians were gracious hosts by contributing directly to the Wildcat cause when an errant kick by one of the Shamokin players found it’s way into the goal, giving CM a 1-0 lead in the first period.

Even though Central Mountain attacked steadily in the first half, they only had a 1 goa; advantage to open play in the second period. That all changed and the flood gates opened for the Wildcat offense.

First Jeremy Rosamilia hit pay dirt when he scored unassisted less than 4 minutes in to the second stanza for a 2-0 CM lead. Six minutes later, Alec Leuthold would score with an assist from Brayden Brungard to put the cats up 3-0.

Riley Condo would find the back of the net with just under 15 minutes remaining in the game and Rosamilia would add the final score with just over 3 minutes to go off an assist from Shea Cole giving Central Mountain the 5-0 win.

Central Mountain dominated offensively in other aspects of the game with a 18-2 advantage in shots and 7-2 in corner kicks.

Nick Andrus recorded 2 saves at keeper and Colin Jones added 3 more saves in relief.

Next, Central Mountain will be on the road at Mifflinburg on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017.
