Central Mountain Tennis Finishes with 4-1 Win over Mifflinburg

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – The Lady Wildcat tennis team closed out their regular season schedule with a 4-1 win over visiting Mifflinburg. The win puts Central Mountain at 14-3 overall and 14-1 in the Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference. The Lady ‘Cats will share the league title with Williamsport who managed a win over CM early in the season to force the tying record.

Central Mountain’s Jolee McCluskey defeated Colette Southerton, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Kendall McCluskey took down Mifflinbur’s Allison Wagner, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 then Lady ‘Cat, Katherine Strouse shut out Melanie Rackerd, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.

Natalie Brown and Jess Piergallini picked up another win for Central Mountain with a 6-2, 7-6 win over Mifflinburg’s Abby Underhill and Cheyenne Sauder, 6-2, 7-6 and No. 1 doubles then Mifflinburg bounced back to pick up their only win when Kiara Gilroy and Tiffany Feese narrowly edged Caitlyn Dale and Gianna Renzo 5-7, 6-3, 12-10 at No. 2 doubles.

Central Mountain will now prepare for District 6 action which will begin on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017 in Altoona.
